Usually, to manufacture a product it’s needed to sub-assembled components with certain logistics or production complexity. By subcontracting those sub-assembled products, customers can receive them daily in their plant, just in time & with guaranteed quality, avoiding components or packaging follow up process, as well as maintenance of their lines and space at their plant.

In other hand, there are manufacturers (plastic injection, stamping, etc.) whose products require external processes, to be done once they have been produced. By separating production process from the final external operations, production batches can be higher, and they can earn efficiencies, as they can use their resources just for the technology they dominate.
